Mark Papermaster, AMD's Executive Vice President and CTO, announced that AMD has joined the China PCB show Compute Express Link (CXL) Open Alliance.

It is understood that CXL was established by Intel in March this year with Alibaba, Cisco, Dell EMC, Facebook, Google, HPE, Huawei and Microsoft. Designed to work together to develop CXL open interconnect technologies and develop China PCB show specifications to drive breakthroughs in emerging application models while supporting open ecosystems for data center accelerators and other high-speed enhancements.

We also found AMD in the list of members on the CXL website. CXL is a new breakthrough high-speed "CPU to device" and "CPU to memory" open interconnect China PCB show technology that enables CPU and platform enhancements and workload accelerators such as GPUs, FPGAs and other dedicated accelerator solutions. High-speed, efficient interconnects designed to enhance the China PCB show performance of next-generation data centers.

It is reported that the alliance has released "CXL Specification 1.0", and is also setting up an open standards organization, and strive to create China PCB show innovative use cases for CXL technology, and develop CXL specification 2.0 to further improve the technical features and functions of the standard.
